Post Hydraulic Punch vs Press Punch: Test Run in India

In June 2025 a fully automatic solar strut channel roll forming machine with post hydraulic punch passed its successful test run for a customer in India. The post-punch design is the interesting part of this line.

Machine configuration

Coil thicknessUp to 2.5 mm
PunchingPost hydraulic punch — 20 holes per stroke
LineFully automatic, PLC controlled

Why post punching

With an inline press punch, the press and its foundation sit inside the line, and the whole machine gets longer. The post hydraulic punch stands behind the line and picks the channel up after forming: it punches 20 holes in a single stroke, which keeps the cycle time, and it leaves the factory floor space free for storage and logistics — a real advantage in a plant built on a tight plot.
