High-rise construction is moving to high strength steel formwork: 500 MPa-class steel in a thinner gauge carries the same concrete pressure as weaker steel in a thicker one. Lighter panels mean faster crane work, less labour on the floor, and the same 200+ reuses that make steel formwork beat wood. If your customers are high-rise and infrastructure builders, this is the line to specify.
1. Why high strength changes the economics
With G500/G550-class steel you use a thinner coil for the same panel strength. The panel weighs less — the crane moves it faster, the crew handles it with fewer people — while the stiffer section resists deformation under high concrete pressure. Versus wood formwork the savings stack up: about 30% labour, 50% material, and reuse beyond 200 cycles.
2. Material and machine specs
The line runs galvanized, PPGI and carbon steel coil, 1.5–3.0 mm, yield strength 250–550 MPa (G350–G550) — the upper end of that band is where the high-strength line earns its name. Rolling harder, thinner steel puts more demand on the tooling, which is why the line is built with 22 forming stations, Cr12Mov rollers (the roller material we specify for long tool life) and a casting frame that keeps the panel tolerances stable shift after shift.
| Forming stations | 22 |
|---|---|
| Forming speed | 0–30 m/min |
| Main motor | 22 kW |
| Material | GI / PPGI / carbon steel, 1.5–3.0 mm, G350–G550 |
| Punching | Press punch, bolt pattern to your panel design |
| Factory space | About 25 m × 30 m |
3. Standard line or high-strength line?
The two lines share the same flow — decoiler, main forming machine, press punch, hydraulic servo follow-cut, outer table — and the same 60-day delivery. The difference is the material band they are tuned for. If your order book is standard G350 steel, start with the standard steel formwork line; if your projects specify G500 and above, this is the line.
