Solar C channel is the bracket profile behind flat concrete rooftops and the large open-field ground plants. A C channel line looks simpler than a strut channel line — and a few details still decide whether it pays back. Here is what to check.
1. Size range: match the line to the projects you sell
Our solar C channel lines produce C channel from 60–120 mm wide and 40–60 mm high; any size in the range can be produced, and the punch holes follow your drawing. Roof projects and ground plants pull different sizes, so decide early whether you need one size on one die set or a few sizes with quick changeover.
2. Gauge and coating
The line is built for galvanized, PPGI and carbon steel coil (G350–G550) in the standard channel gauges. If your market specifies zinc-aluminum-magnesium coil for corrosion life, confirm the supplier has run coated coil through this type of line — see our ZAM vs hot-dip galvanized comparison.
3. Line layout
The standard flow is: 5-ton decoiler, servo feeder, press punch, main roll forming machine (15 stations), hydraulic servo follow-cut, outer table. From there, three upgrades matter most: a coil head cutter and welder so one operator can change coils without stopping the line for long, an auto stacker at the output end, and — if you plan to sell structural C and U profiles as well — a cassette structure that switches between C and U tooling. 4. Speed and capacity
Nominal forming speed is 0–30 m/min, depending on the punch pattern of the day. Plan your monthly output from the speed your heaviest punch day allows, not from the maximum empty-run speed.
5. Questions to ask any supplier
